White Rushes is a ritual music and visual performance drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese divination system of the Yijing (‘Book of Changes’) The Yijing expresses the idea that change observed in the environment is a reflection of change in oneself. As a literal expression of this concept, the cellist —dressed in white — becomes a moving canvas for visual patternings inspired by nature and rendered through a real time engine, which themselves are in continuous flux. The piece revisits an ancient search for meaning within changing natural environmental patterns, blurring the distinctions of technology and natural systems.

Apocablyss will be presenting our current projects! SO excited.

COMPOSITE is a quarterly networking event dedicated to digital creativity. It was born of an initiative by the Conseil des arts de Montréal, and is coordinated by MAPP_MTL in collaboration with key players in Montreal's digital scene.

The aim of this event is to create a recurring meeting space between the art world and the digital industry, encouraging encounters and pollination between creators, artist-run centers, organizations, companies and digital professionals.

This 39th edition of COMPOSITE takes place within the framework of the 14th edition of MIAN (Marché International de l'Art Numérique). MIAN is a series of professional days organized by ELEKTRA since 2007 to facilitate exchanges between key players in the international digital art and culture ecosystem. On June 20 and 21, 2024, the 14th edition of MIAN presents a series of discussions, panels and performances as part of the ELEKTRA Biennial, a major exhibition entirely dedicated to contemporary digital art, held from May 31 to July 21, 2024 at Arsenal art contemporain Montréal. For this 7th Biennale, twenty artists from three continents address the theme ILLUSION, a reflection on our post-factual, post-truth and alternative reality era.

Welcome to Apocablyss at LIKELIKE

LIKELIKE is back IRL with an exhibition of works by Paloma Dawkins and an international network of collaborators. The Montreal-based cartoonist/animator is known for her immersive landscapes populated by whimsical characters and hand drawn fractals.
Embark in a psychedelic odyssey through the highest clouds to the ocean deep, from Kafkian gardens to mind-and-body virtual playgrounds. There is no better way to return to “normalcy” and “reality”.

Intertext.e Presents: Wet Dream x PLACE x Apocablyss Launch

Join us for an exploration of words and worlds with a double book and tarot card launch on September 23, featuring Erin Robinsong, Alexei Perry Cox, Ashley Obscura, Apocablyss Studio, Nadah El Shazly, Erose and Nadia Chaney.Join us as we endeavour to create a space to communally traverse timely matters: finding bliss in the apocalypse, living on a wet planet on fire, surviving the unsurvivable, using witchcraft to create new paths and meanings, and more. Come and enjoy poetry readings, tarot readings, a trippy arcade of surreal video games, interactive art, a publication table, bar and more all within an inspired and inspiring space. This event is presented by Intertext.e: Centre for Book and Media Arts, a center for new trajectories in publication, media and literary arts. It fosters and creates space for artistic collaboration, creation, exploration, broadcasting, and exhibitions.
